Guild Election Results 2025- Meet Your New Student Officers

The student body has had their say, and you new Student Officers are ready to take office for the 25/26 Academic Year. I caught up with some of the Officers after the results event on Friday night, and this is what they had to say.

President Othman Ibrahim

Othman represents the Guild for another year, this time as President.

Do you have anything to say to your supporters?

Wow! Thank you so much, and Free Palestine!

What are your first priorities now that you can continue your work in the Guild?

I know many students voted for me because they’re international students, and they come from different cultural backgrounds. I want to let people know that this year I will try to represent people as much as I can. I want to make sure we have all the facilities, all the food options, everything that will make everyone on campus regardless of their background, regardless of where they come from in the world, feel that they belong here.

Holly Thompson

Holly also continues her role as a Student Officer.

Do you have anything to say to your supporters?

I’m really thankful that everyone’s put their trust back in me, and appreciate the work I’ve done and want me to continue it.

What are your first priorities now that you can continue your work in the Guild?

Definitely the buses, that a big thing. But I want to keep up student safety, and women’s representation. I am still the only woman, but that’s ok. Nighttime safety’s a key one.

Jitendra Inturi

Jitendra remains a Student Officer for a final year.

Do you have anything to say to your supporters?

Congratulations guys! We are going to make UoL epic for one more year.

What are your first priorities now that you can continue your work in the Guild?

Masters dissertation resit, because there is currently no opportunity for Masters students to resit in the same year. I am trying to get the university to allow resits as soon as possible, so International Students won’t have to go back to their home country because they failed one exam.

I’m working on library timings, and other things from my manifesto and I am pretty sure that they will happen.

Will Jones

Will joins the team of returning Guild Officers this year. He was not available for interview.
