It’s hard to believe it’s been two weeks since we were first introduced to this year’s election candidates. However, after a hard-fought campaign by all, on Friday night we found out who will make up next year’s Student Officer team.
On the floor that night, I was able to speak with the winners, to quickly get their first impressions of the news and reflect on the culmination of their campaign success.
I feel really grateful and I’m excited to have another year to finish the stuff that I’ve been working on this year.
Thank you so much for voting for me! I know I probably annoyed a lot of you by going up to you every single day of campaigning (probably more than once) but thank you for believing in me and voting for me.
I am going to a David Attenborough-themed house party for Vice-President Ella’s birthday, so that’s where I’ll be tonight.
A little bit in shock still. I wasn’t really expecting it to be honest and I feel very in shock and very grateful at the same time.
I want to say (and I know it sounds really cliché!) don’t ever give up hope because I really, really pushed myself this year and last year was a completely different story. I gave it my all and it’s worked out, so just keep giving it your all! Also, a massive thank you to the student body, thank you for voting for me!
I am going to Ella’s birthday party too, I’ve got a costume lined up and we’re just going to have a really great night.
I’m feeling happy and excited that I got re-elected. It’s great that students wanted to vote for me again, so I can continue representing them throughout the university.
Just thank you. We’re going to continue representing you and make sure that your voices are heard at all levels.
I’m going out with my friends to get very, very drunk!
I’m ecstatic. I’m very, very happy. I cried if I’m being honest but I’m very happy to get in. It was a tough week.
I just want to say thank you to everyone who voted for me. It was hard, meeting up with everyone and them saying they’d already voted but going up to people and them saying, “I’ve already voted for you, mate” filled me with such joy, people I don’t even know. So yeah, I just want to say thank you to everyone who voted for me, it means so much to me.
I’ve already started drinking and that’s exactly how I’m going to keep going, it’s in my blood. I’m going to go and get a Guinness straight after this. I’ve already said congratulations to all of the other candidates but now I’m on the Guinness, going straight to the bar.
